WHAT A START TO THE HOLIDAYS!
Alex Shorrock took the opportunity to kick off the school holidays by spending a few days on Pans Lake in Hertfordshire – and he couldn’t have hoped for a better start to the summer!
Despite only containing a stock of around 40 carp, Alex managed to catch seven of them during his stay, including a couple of the lake’s originals, which he was understandably chuffed to bits with.
Alex learned the fish respond well to a spread of bait, so that’s what he did, introducing a mixture of Secret 7 and SLK boilies, to which he added tiger nuts soaked in Tiger Nut Extract. He then fished over the top of his baited area with Ronnie rigs on helicopter systems, with the fish taking a particular liking to 15mm Pink Peril pop-ups.
