Catch More Carp This Autumn - Over Bait!

Mark Bartlett demonstrates how to get the very best from your autumn carping – by fishing over bait!

MAKE THIS YOUR BEST AUTUMN EVER!

The Foundry syndicate in Lincoln has some excellent autumn form, and during an October session on the new moon, Simon Crow bagged himself a cracking 49lb 8oz mirror.
The magnificent fish, glowing in its autumn colours, couldn’t resist a PB wafter fished over a bed of The Bug boilies.

While filming with the Fox cameras at the iconic Sandhurst Lake in Yateley in October, Lee Morris couldn’t have scripted it any better for the start of his autumn campaign!
Mozza got off to a flyer, landing multiple carp, topped by none other than the lake’s biggest resident, the incredible mirror known as Phoenix at 49lb+! Not stopping there, just a few hours later he backed it up with another chunky 45lb mirror, though that one’s being saved for the big screen when the film drops
Both fish were caught using Crayfish Mini Mix pellets packed into solid bags, fished over a bed of 12mm and 15mm Bug boilies coated in Insect Meal, and a touch of sweetcorn — a killer autumn combo!

Stephen Chamberlain has been in a red-hot run of form, adding a 43lb Cambridgeshire mirror to his growing tally of big ‘uns!
Stephen had a dream spell over the course of five weeks, with five of his previous six fish topping the 40lb mark, including a 50-pounder – an impressive average!
A solid-bag presentation did the trick, with his offering packed with Crayfish Mini Mix pellets and crushed Bug boilies soaked in Crayfish Hydro Spod, with a Bug Half Tones hookbait sitting perfectly amongst it all.

Waterside Fishery’s Big Common used to love an October capture – and, of course, a bit of DNA Baits!
The colossal fish weighed in at 66lb 8oz on this occasion, the exact same weight as when landed by fellow DNA user, Kieran Duff, earlier in the year.
This time the angler was Dan Woods, who tempted the fish on a PB pop-up whittled down to make it a wafter, coupled with a solid bag of Crayfish Mini Mix pellets.

There can’t have been many carp anglers who enjoyed a better Halloween than Kev Clough! During a session on Cambridgeshire superwater, Grenville Lake, Kev got his hands on a colossal 60lb 2oz mirror, backed up by a mega scaly of 36lb 8oz.
Kev was fishing a 48-hour session in peg 10, from where he offered PB wafters in solid bags over a scattering of 15mm Bug boilies catapulted to 11 wraps.
Having only switched to DNA Baits at the start of the season, Kev’s been on fire ever since – and this latest result is further evidence of that.

Lee Dowling enjoyed yet another red-letter session on the Linear Fisheries GUYs syndicate, with his latest haul comprising 21 fish, including six thirties and a new PB ghostie of 37lb 12oz.
Fishing at 80 yards to a small gravel spot amongst weed, Lee offered PB wafters over a bed of Bug boilies, hemp and corn, all fished on slip-D rigs.
Another unforgettable session for an angler who is absolutely loves his autumn carping!
